Children and Minors Policy
Last updated: 18 May 2026
The UCS website is intended primarily for adults, healthcare professionals, medical trainees, educators, members, applicants, and invited contributors. It is not directed to children as account users. Users should be at least 18 years old or have the legal capacity and authorization required for their role. UCS may refuse or close accounts where it believes the user is a minor, lacks authority, or provided false information. Public content may be viewed by minors, but it is not pediatric medical advice or a substitute for qualified care. Clinical materials involving children require heightened caution. Uploaders must ensure lawful basis, de-identification, consent from a parent or legal representative where required, respect for dignity and best interests, institutional approvals where relevant, and compliance with UCS patient privacy rules. UCS may reject or remove pediatric materials even with consent if privacy, dignity, safety, legal, ethical, or organizational risk is too high. If child data was collected without appropriate basis, UCS may delete, restrict, or take other lawful action.
