Ukrainian College of Surgeons and Genark Inc. Announce Strategic Scholarship Partnership
The beginning of the year has brought encouraging news and a strong example of international cooperation for medical education in Ukraine. The Ukrainian College of Surgeons (UCS) is pleased to announce the launch of a new scholarship initiative, created in partnership with the Japanese company Genark Inc.
This collaboration became possible thanks to the dedicated efforts of Teppei Sakano and Oleksandr Sokolenko, whose commitment helped unite the partners around a shared vision. Within the framework of this partnership, the parties have agreed to provide two full scholarships each year, covering 100% of tuition costs for students enrolled in the program.
The partners emphasize that this initiative is designed as a long-term collaboration, reflecting mutual trust and a shared investment in the future of the healthcare system. A particularly meaningful aspect of this partnership is the involvement of students themselves: one of the co-founders of the NGO "Ukrainian College of Surgeons" is Rostyslav Yuzkiv, a second-year master’s student. His role highlights how students can become active contributors and partners in the development of modern educational programs.
Scholarship Focus Areas
The scholarship program is targeted at professionals whose work is critically important for the resilience and modernization of healthcare:
- Military personnel and combatants
- Specialists working in infection control
- Specialists involved in the digitalization of the healthcare system
Allocation of Funds
At the beginning of the year, scholarship funds will be directed toward:
- A scholarship for a first-year student of the program
- Support for the Artem Sviridov Foundation, whose first scholarship recipient was Yevhen Didenko
These decisions reflect the core values of the partnership: the strength of the professional community and confidence in education as a long-term investment in the future of Ukraine’s healthcare system.
The Ukrainian College of Surgeons continues to develop its educational mission in cooperation with international partners, including the Ukrainian-Swiss Project "Development of Medical Education" and the Ukrainian Health Center (UHC).
